In the impaired season, the kitchen and living room sets of the Banks mansion (which is where most the shows scenes were shot) were rebuilt much larger with a more coincidental style as opposed to the much more formal style of the first season. They were connected directly by an archway, allowing scenes to be whack continuously between the sets.

Extended Branch Jazz and Blues Festival showcases local talent - Asbury Park Press
There is piles of quality jazz and blues on tap Saturday on the stage at the Great Lawn at the Boardwalk, Cooper Avenue and McKinley Circle, Long Branch. And, once again, it’s free, co-produced by the City of Long Branch Urban Enterprise Zone program and the Red Bank-based Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Establishment. The Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival, plagued in earlier years by tropical storms and other sickening kinds of weather, has been enjoying much more palatable weather the last two or three years, with patrons and musicians enjoying lots of sunshine, reasonably-priced food and drink vendors and cool breezes off the Atlantic. Music begins at 12:40 p. m. with the Native Anthem, followed by a 45-minute set by the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation’s Youth Ensemble. Past master Asbury Park-area musician Kenny “Stringbean” Sorensen, a singer-songwriter-harmonica playing guitarist and his Stalkers mulct the stage from 1:45 to 2:30 p. m. , followed by an hour-long set from the Sherri Pie Band. Keyport-based harmonica participant and energetic front man Jonny B. and his Blues Blazers perform from 4 to 5 p. m. , followed by a set from the supremely talented vocalist Eryn Shewell and her confederate, the Whiskey Devils from 5:15 to 6:15 p. m. North Jersey guitarist, singer and bandleader SaRon Crenshaw performs with his ensemble from 6:30 to 7:30 and the festival closes with a long set from Funktion 11 from 7:45 to 9:15 p. m. The music will be followed by fireworks and favourably around 10 p. m. many fans will head to the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, where they can catch at least another two sets from Billy Hector and his merge. Hector and his ultra-tight trio will be accompanied at his annual birthday bash by the Midnite Horns, Tommy LaBella on saxophones, Steve Jankowski on trumpet and Tommy Meares on trombone. Hector’s up to date album, “Old School Thang,” is a superb album from start to finish. It demonstrates what glorious things can hit on when a musician who keeps growing and pushing himself in new directions teams up with good producers and good studios like Lake Forebears in Asbury Park and Jankowski’s Jankland Studios in West Belmar. “Old School Thang” is Hector’s 11. Florida-based Ellard James Boles, happier known as “Moose” -- of Moose and the Bulletproof Blues Band -- brings his road show to the Red Bank Women’s Trounce band tonight at 8:30 p. m. Provided by Networx. Uninspired is beautiful … or so they say. Nevertheless, an undersized living room does pose a few unique decorating challenges. Learn how to keep your small salon feel cozy, while at the same time taking away that unpleasantly cramped feeling. Light it up. An abundance of light sets an airy, free tone in a living room of any dimensions, but is especially important in a small one, to prevent a claustrophobic feeling. While natural daylight is the best, installing electrical fixtures tailored out with low energy, full-color-spectrum bulbs is a close runner-up. Color it bright. Don't be afraid to use a promising color that you love. Just be sure to confine the boldest tints to small quantities, or combine them with more subdued shades of the same hue. And glue to the "no more than 3 basic colors in one room" guideline to avoid overwhelm. If, as is often the case, your limited living room is part of an open minimum plan, perhaps in a condo or tiny house , unifying the various spaces will help to create a pleasant flow. The living room rug might pick up the turquoise background of a poster over your dining table, for example. Even the minutest amount of litter will stand out like a sore thumb when it's in a small space. Makes sense, when you think about it: the mess does follow up a greater percentage of a teeny room's real estate. Give away, sell, or recycle anything that does not serve an esthetic or expedient purpose. In my own small living room, I have a pair of end tables, one on either side of my sofa -- convenient spots to put down a hard-cover or a cup of tea. Because each has two large drawers, they do double duty as the go-to place for stationery (yes, I still use the paper kind on occasion) and important items like the A/C slim and an emergency light for the frequent power failures we get around here. Know yourself. Decide what furnishings work for your lifestyle. For case in point, that same undersized living room I mentioned previously does not contain a coffee table. Even though it's normally considered a standard decor article, I just don't have much use for one … at least not enough to justify taking up valuable floor space. Don't be shy. With a tiny room, it is oh so.www.wxow.com

The 2,050-true-foot home has central air, an updated kitchen and all the other modern goodies. But those features can be found in most other houses on the demand. What sets 830 Pearl St. apart is its pedigree. "This house was made the way houses were meant to be made. It's solid. It has survived every thunderstorm that has gone be means of Ottawa since 1900," said owner John Martin. Martin is happy with the oak- and pine-floored skilled in he bought 10 years ago, but now, as an empty nester, he is looking to downsize, in particular, to no longer have to mow a huge sward. He is only the home's fifth owner. The house is a classic example of American Four Square architecture, renowned from the 1890s to the 1930s. The name comes from the layout — the second floor has four similar-sized bedrooms in each corner. Those four bedrooms would have come in useful for the home's first residents, August and Louise Gerding, who had six children. August was a photographer, who died in 1919. Louise then moved to another firm in Ottawa. One reminder of the Gerding's time in the home is in the attic, where the years the house was painted are written on a rafter — the earliest year is 1918. Another turn one's mind is an upstairs wall fixture that was once a gas-fired light. In fact, almost anywhere one looks confidential the house, one sees well-preserved reminders of the past. One bathroom sports subway wall tiles, which became predominating in decorating in the first quarter of the 20th century after such tiles were used to line New York City subway stations. In the living room , the fireplace veil is from a 19th century English church, as are the stained glass windows in various rooms. Off of the kitchen is a powder room, but from the beginning the space held an ice box. a hatch remains in a wall through which blocks of ice were passed into the box long ago. And of course, opulence, well-maintained woodwork runs throughout the home's interior. The exterior is surrounded by wood of a different group — pin oaks, sycamore, cedar and honey locust trees tower over the property. The house rests on a chunk foundation, with a layer of clay around the home's perimeter that keeps the basement as dry as the Sahara. However, there is water around — Martin noted the home is close enough to the Fox River to "almost throw a rock into it. ". Even with two garages that can protect four vehicles, the partially fenced yard still.www.mywebtimes.com
